Sounding Board
Advising and supporting emerging initiatives in their development and implementation
The Sounding Board is a group of experts that supports emerging initiatives of the Textile Dialogue on human rights and environmental due diligence (HREDD) throughout design and implementation. It provides practical advice and technical backstopping and helps to establish contacts and cooperation between initiatives and relevant stakeholders and organisations in production countries. A core aim is to ensure structured involvement of civil society and local stakeholders, thereby strengthening the quality, feasibility and legitimacy of the initiatives.
The board consists of members drawn from the DST circle of participants, complemented by technical experts from the GIZ. Members are selected for proven experience in the textile and garment sector, human rights and environmental due diligence (HREDD), and experience in textile and garment producing countries, as well as the representation of local perspectives. Diversity of stakeholder groups and broad thematic coverage are ensured.
By combining targeted HREDD expertise with strong links to production countries, the Sounding Board aims to improve the effectiveness of DST initiatives and accelerate cooperation with key actors on the ground.
